Hey antipodeanIB, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your topic! Bummer...could just be unlucky but one of these topics will help shed some light:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

From industry groups have seen people go to H.I.G for regular buyout as well as bregal sagemount (growth equity). From restructuring there's precedent for a variety of places like oak hill for distressed debt or hedge funds focused on distressed investing from browsing linkedin.
What’s their general rep like in USA? I heard they were expanding aggressively.
I’m in EMEA where they dominate in the UMM space but don’t think they are close to that in USA
Do they sponsor international students?
They didn’t last summer
Would love to hear thoughts on groups. I have heard that outside of restructuring their industrials and consumer groups are their best ones but not sure if that is the case.
Had a superday with them, didn't get the job but they've yet to reimburse me for my plane ticket which they promised. It's being like 3 months now idk what's going on with them
Anyone have any input?

It’s generalist across industries and products for SA. It’s the most generalist of the generalist programs, for that matter, because they also have debt advisory (CVP does not have). MDs and Ds are close with analysts and interns. Summer staffers are good about placing you with groups/people you request. Strong strong mentorship. All the bankers are on one floor in NYC, and I think there are only about 140 of them.
RX isn’t as strong as it was under Augustine (now at GHL), but it is still very good.
Solid shop in terms of deal flow. As an analyst you own the models and are in direct contact with management teams.
How would you describe the analysts there in terms of background?
They come from a great mix of schools. A lot of UVA and midwestern schools like Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Indiana. Georgetown. A mix of your UChicago + Ivies. Great mix of non-core people.
