SA 2025 Networking with upcoming team

With June getting closer and closer I want to start networking with my team in a month or so. After I got my offer last year I had a few calls with VP+ but no contact in 8+ months.

Seems the route is to start with the current Analysts and associates.

If your incoming SA were to reach out to you to get to know you better before day one what are some DOs and DONTS. *also I’m near the city so in person is also possible

The most useful feedback was on delivery: he spotted that I speed up when I’m nervous and told me to slow down, which instantly made my answers sound more confident and considered. He also pushed me to name specific firms and deals instead of speaking in generalities, and reframed how I answer “why not return to your previous firm”; lead with what attracts me to the new platform, not what I didn’t like about the old one. We sharpened the closing line of my “tell me about yourself” so it actually lands on why I want tech IB, and he helped me build a question list for an upcoming call with a senior associate.
