secondaries vs energies IB

Hi all. Recently had the good fortune to receive an offer from both a secondaries IB group in my hometown and an oil and gas restructuring group (also does M&A) a few hours drive away from it. The secondaries group does both GP and LP led transactions. I really want to take the secondaries role, but my question would be in terms of the technical skills you learn. Having had conversations with members of the secondaries group, it sounds like there's good opportunity for technical practice on the GP led side, but I am less sure about the LP side. My goal is to learn as much as possible, but at the same time given that I didn't do an IB summer internship, I think that for the initial first few years out of college, it may be nice to have support of family in my hometown. Really just looking for any advice people have on this front, as I don't know many people in the field. Thanks!
