Seeking IB Advice

Hello all, I’m currently a rising sophomore at BC CSOM and I have a great opportunity to potentially transfer to Georgetown MSB. HOWEVER, the tradeoff is that it would be for Spring 2026! Is that still enough time to really get a good start on getting a junior summer 2027 IB internship? I’ve been prepping this summer with WSP premium package to really learn everything I can. Apparently Spring 2026 acceptances come around September and most people do get accepted off this selective waitlist they placed me on. I still have a very slight chance for fall 2025 but definitely unlikely.

If I were to get into McDonough do you guys think as long as I grinded I could still get great “target school” opportunities with banks and networks? And even worst case scenario still bag something in Junior year for the summer ?

Tl;dr: Should I transfer from BC CSOM to Gtown MSB in Spring 2026 ? Could I still break into IB despite being a semester late?

Side note: Georgetown has been my dream school for 2 years.

Current Georgetown student here. I would say regardless of IB, yes, if the tuition costs make sense for you and your family.

For IB, it would only make a difference if you were going to delay your grad a semester (and matriculate into the SA 28 recruiting pool). This is because you would not be at Georgetown for the fall and wouldn't be able to network within that Georgetown network (unless you lied about transferring in the fall to bankers).

I talked to an admissions officer and they said I could network in the fall with Georgetown as long as I have my email by then.

If you have your email, then 100%. Georgetown places insanely well. I would try and confirm when you would get that tho
