Senior Analyst / Associate Interview

Hi All,

I have an interview for a Senior Analyst / Associate role at a MM bank. I currently work as a Research Associate covering the mobile- first tech landscape (Private companies). I put together thought leadership pieces, and I assist the banking teams with teasers, CIMs, random Comps analyses. I do not think I am super qualified for an associate role, as I don't have true deal experience. How do I swing my story / show how I would still be a good fit.

I have sound accounting, ppt, excel skills and great valuation / accounting knowledge, but just not too much practice outside of my hedge fund internship, and the occasional ad-hoc projects I help out my current firm's banking team with. I am well versed with CapIQ and primary and secondary research. Need help in preparing for the interview - should I just focus on technicals as I don't have deal experience or should I swing my knowledge on the various sectors and tech verticals as my true asset?

Kind regards, Suraj
