Shit Bonuses Despite Great Team’s Performance

Our team have worked their asses off like proper corporate whores in the sweatiest shop of all times. Everyone’s staffed on 4-7 live deals, we’ve been closing great deals left and right and our team’s revenue is up YoY. However, because the market is shit and the overall performance of the bank is not great, we expect ~30% bonuses. Our team has paid even 250% for the top performers in the past.

Is there anything we can do to negotiate better bonuses or should we just suck it up and wait for better years? Was kind of expecting this to happen despite our great performance but didn’t believe it until it got verbally confirmed by seniors. Many chose the niche team to hedge against the market fluctuations and everyone knew we would be very busy despite the macro environment.
