Should I do IB or am I just depressed?

My girlfriend recently broke up with me and I feel like I fucked up. I wanted to dedicate all my time to her, but now that she’s gone I feel like I may as well dedicate all my time to working and making money, try to crawl my way up to MD (even tho the way is a fraction of what it was) and then get moderately rich and then die. I’m not smart enough to be anything more than a career banker, but I accepted a Corp startup accelerator gig out of college for the name (F15) and the nice hours. Now I feel like I should have just gone to a no name sweatshop for the high pay and just crawled my way up the ladder. Is this a good mentality to do IB or am I just depressed and seeing it for something more than it is?

That's a horrible mentality my guy, if you hate your life now, crank this up to 100000000000x when you slave away for hours in excel and ppt, fixing logos and putting up with assholes all day. Wait a bit, clear your head and then decide what you want to do, seems like you are trying to slap a band aid in the form of money/career, that won't help at all
