I've applied to this BB investment bank that I really would like to get into on 9/9/15. I applied for the associate position but I'd take an analyst position. I cold emailed a recruiter and got a response that they would send my resume in to the division for review. Two days ago the VP of said company and division checked out my LinkedIn profile but I haven't heard anything yet. I really want to maximize my chances at getting an interview. Should I email the VP with something along the lines of "I noticed you viewed my profile................ Is there anything I can clear up...................I'd also be interested in an analyst position............" ?
My gut says no, but my gut hasn't gotten me anywhere so far.
(Oh and I also had a typo in my cover letter that I didn't notice until after the resume/cv was sent in. Instead of financial ratios I had financial rations. Stupid stupid me, I hope they don't catch that. Felt like I should apologize)

This works. Do not reference the fact that you saw him checking your profile on LinkedIn. That sounds quite amateur.
