D1 track athlete here. I mention my student-athlete experience on my resume, under a section titled just "Experience" that also includes work experience. However, on online job apps that just parse my PDF, I never know whether to put it under their work experience section. By the strict definition, it's definitely not, but I've been advised to do it anyway by some, since I'm committing 20+ hours a week on top of school. I feel like it's one of the biggest things going for me alongside my GPA and my internship from last summer, so I feel bad leaving it out. Any advice?
Sure you can put it in the work experience section
