Should I Still Network with Current School Alumni if I Want to Transfer
I'm a freshman currently attend a non-target/semi-target with a decent size alumni base at various BBs. I'm hoping to obtain a sophomore IB internship at a BB and I've been told that if I should begin my networking process now, then my goal would be very achievable. However, I am also going to try and transfer to another school (a target, but I'm transferring for personal reasons) at the same time. My question is, if I start networking now and successfully transfer, will my current networking end up hurting me as the alumni (who are fiercely loyal to my current school) will know that I transferred?
Use what you've got.
They're not going to be your new groupies. They're not going to check your FB and LinkedIn to see if you still attend their alma mater. Don't mention it to them and network while you can. It'd be weirder to use alumni in your soon-to-be network... "Yeah I'm actually starting next fall"
