Should I transfer to Investor Relations in a BB from IB?

I am a male at a pre-eminent BB.

Couldn't help but notice all these girls (and some guys) at my BB get promotions to Director/Executive Director in the Investor Relations department recently.

Some of these folks were ex-colleagues in my industry group in IB division and left to go to IR (Office of the CFO), within the bank, but I don't exactly know what they do, what they get paid, what their hours are and what exit opps for IR are?

Can anyone shed some light on this? I feel annoyed I am still a lowly senior associate, while some of the girls in particular (who really aren't that smart in my view), that transferred out several years ago are now Executive Directors in IR!

What's going on?
