SIE Exam Study Time?

I will be starting my job this July and my bank told me they expected analysts to pass the SIE prior to June.

I was planning on studying for two or three weeks and taking it in late June but due to unforeseen travel I will be out of the country May 10th and will not be back until early June. Is 7-8 days enough time to study and pass? I have some finance background but probably a little rusty. Does anyone know what banks do if you do not pass before the date they suggested? Kind of freaking out. Thanks in advance for any help.
