Sophomore at BB S&T to Junior IB BB

I will be doing a Sophomore SA internship at a BB in S&T this summer but am looking to recruit for IB for Junior summer.

- How hard would it be to recruit for another BB for IB coming from a low semi-target/non -target?

- Is it worth trying to network internally? I hear it is very hard to secure a return offer in a different division.

Its the opposite of hard. Being a sophomore intern at a BB already puts you ahead of the pack. I think it would be quite easy. Interns during my year made the move at the end of the internship with no problems. In fact, spoke with a few that told me the interviews were mostly fit/behavioral based.

Don't get me wrong, could be a challenge depending on bank. But not at hard as you think. Even if you apply to other banks, you'd be competing with many juniors that don't have any meaningful experience at a BB, for example. Just focus on getting great reviews during the S&T internship and the rest will be easy.

I have 3 friends who did BB sophomore S&T, one went back for junior summer, both others got different BB IB SA gigs
