Sophomore Summer Internship - Regulatory Agency
How does a sophomore summer internship at a regulatory firm (think SEC, FTC, OCC) look like on your resume and how is it perceived by bankers? I have previous internship experience in PE and VC but was not able to land an IB boutique for this summer. The regulatory firm works out the best for me (in terms of pay + location) and I thought it would be a great way to get a better understanding of the finance world and banking.
Should I accept the offer or not? Thanks in advance.

I’m spending my sophomore summer at a huge regulatory agency as well (not one of the ones you mentioned though), and throughout my summer 2021 recruitment experience, people have thought it’s super cool and have been very impressed. Had a networking call the other day and this guy said that it’s one of the most significant non-IB related internships someone could do.
