Sophomore with no internship for this upcoming summer.

Hey guys so I've gotten myself into a bit of a problem and I'm stressing out a lot. I'm a sophomore at a target school that still has failed to find an internship for this upcoming summer. My question is: what should I be doing right now? Is it too late to find an unpaid job at a small boutique i-bank in Chicago through cold emailing?

Also, should I even be bothering to apply for 3rd year internships if I don't have a summer internship lined up for this year?

Some relevant info: 3.94 GPA, finance club senior analyst, accepted to a selective certificate program at the business school

I'm in this position because of my lack of motivation this past year and the toll that the schoolwork has been taking on me, but I'm willing to put in the work I need to turn things around.

If you can't pull something together in terms of a job or internship then I suggest dedicating yourself to learning a skill or skillset. Coding, data science, excel, etc. I have CFA (Levels: 1, 2, & 3) materials I can send you if that interests you.

First, do all you can to get an internship. If that doesn't work out, then just make sure you have something to show for the summer.
