Those people are white trash with money.

Agreed. A disproportiate number of them live in Texas and Los Angeles. There are no rainmakers from Wall Street who would care to have that much publicity around themselves or their children.

these kids also get ridiculous cars for their 16th birthdays. I've seen kids on that show get brand new Jaguar XK's which cost $75,000. Heck some kid got a brand new Mercedes S550 which costs around $90K

On my 16th birthday we went out to Applebee's. On my 18th birthday we went out to some local place. And a month before that, I got the keys to my mom's old camry. And then she told me she needs a ride to work since I gave my sister rides in the car. But then that weekend she bought herself a lexus and I got to keep the car.

I don't think it even matters how rich someone is. It's about being humble. My parents let me drive their BMW. I take my friends to movies whose parents own one car made in the 80's. It's all about being appreciative. If your parents bought you a phantom rolls royce because they loved you then fine. It's when these spoiled fucks start bragging that's the problem. It shows no class, manners, horrible parenting and so forth. When I buy new expensive clothing I don't brag. I buy it because I like it ad it's within my family's income means. I've never put down someone or bragged that my clothing is worth more etc. There will always be income gaps, it's how people act that's the issue...

The worst part is when those girls tell their dads that they "deserve" that brand new BMW or Mercedes. WTF? Those girls dont deserve anything except a roof over their head, clothes on their backs, and food on the table. They only deserve those because every human deserves such things. I would smack my daughter in the mouth if she tried to tell me she deserved a lavish party, expensive car, etc. The dads are the one's making all the money here, so if anyone deserves anything, its them.

If I have kids, my kids are getting a metrocard if they say they "deserve" good transportation since I intend to live in Manhattan.

i was talking about this with my friend the other day and we were both talking about how much the world has changed since we were little.. how materialistic, narcissistic, retardalistic everyone and their mothers have become. you guys feel the same way? back in the days, our biggest worries were beating the koopa king

there was an article saying that in 1970s, college students main worry was finding a philosophy to live life with; nowadays its career. all this because of globalization? i'm no pussy and i'm fine with some old fashioned competition.. but anyone else feel as if this is getting a bit suffocating?

I really don't think that much has changed. The only difference I see is that its no longer only amongst the upper echelons. Look at guys like J.P. Morgan. Now there's a guy that would stab you in the back just to steal your fee, and that was back before the 1900s. Even in the 1950s families were going out and buying all the new appliances and new cars, etc. I don't think its a sign of the times, its just human nature. Come to think of it, its really just mother nature. There's some bird that chooses its mate based on the size and aesthetic appeal of its nest. Thats just the way the world works, so might as well get on board and capitalize.

Well I guess I'm different from most on this forum, but If I'm rich I'm gonna spoil my kids, they're getting Porches on their 16th birthday and multi-million dollar trust funds on their 21st.

what the fuck? You're telling me this, you work your fucking ass off your whole entire life, and you give it to a fucking slut who has never lifted a finger in her life!!! Is that it??? It's really fuuny, cuz all those girls complain and cry how bad their life is, WHEN THEY HAVE EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING! I didn't have a fraction of what they had! THAT IS FUCKING "BULLSHIT!"

I would consider spoiling them, provided they didn't act like brats. I think there is a difference. Its like yury said, its all about being humble. I'm sure there are billionaire kids out there with every toy imaginable who would be more pleasant to hang out with than the barely millionaire trash they put on MTV. First things first though, I would spoil myself.

Yea, I mean look at Ivanka Trump, she went to Wharton, now working for her Dad, she doesn't seem spoilt or bitchy at all. Contrast her with Paris Hilton and that whole lot.

Not to mention that Ivanka's gorgeous, and seems smart and level-headed.
