Sponsorship at Lazard for FT - group-dependent or HR?

Hi everyone,

I would be grateful if anyone could tell me how the sponsorship process for a FT role works at Lazard.

Is it decided by the groups that want a candidate, is it location dependent, or is it HR that decides in bulk?

I am a recent MFin grad in Canada and managed to get a referral from senior leadership a few months ago. As it was not for any groups/active hiring process, I did not get a chance to prove my worth as HR seemed hesitant with the visa.

If it is group or location-dependent, I can actively reach out and land something through groups instead.

Thanks for any insights.

If you have stem opt that you have not used, I believe it is still eligible. According to what I have been told, if I do a master's program that is not stem, I can still apply for stem While I am unable to combine the stem opt from my undergrad, I would like to use the stem opt from my undergrad

Edit: this is what my schools international officer told me no clue if it’s accurate

Bump, interested as well.

Networked with a few juniors there but none seemed to know how it works for internationals.

Anyone at Lazard and knows can comment?
