S&T Perks??

Does anyone know the perks involved with S&T full-time analysts since all I hear about are from the peeps in IB? I know that hours are around 6-7 so does that mean you get a meal allowance, black car service, blackberry, etc....???

If you're good, you'll be on a very fast track.

you dont get a black car since you leave work by 6 or 7 usually .. same with meal allowance. Blackberry's are simply the MD's preferred way of keeping analysts at work till 3 in the morning. Not a perk in the least.

One of my friends works for some IB/Hedge Fund. She told me that the traders at her company are treated extremely well, and they're held at a much higher pedestal compared to other workers.

So, the traders got together and decided that they don't like the food at the cafeteria, so they hired a professional chef. Now, for lunch, she eats filet mignon, lobster/shrimp, Kobe burgers whenever she wants.

Wish I worked there. hehe

You'll have to work it out with your desk manager, but you generally get a meal allowance and car service if you stay late. A BlackBerry is not a perk--it's a leash.

Also, the first two are questionable perks, at best. They're just signs that you are working too much. The biggest perk of S&T is that you get to enjoy some free time.

no,no, and no. and the bberry isn't a perk, i've managed not to be given when and am thankful for that.

the perks are you get to leave at a reasonable hour.

Agree with everything the guys above said. Do you get black car service and a food allowance? Yes, but you will most likely never use it because you won't be working that late. I've used my food allowance 1 time in almost a year of work since b-school. And the Blackberry, like everyone else said, is sure as hell not a perk. I tried my damndest NOT to get one, but my boss eventually made me. I managed to stall for about 4 months, though. Now that I have it I usually leave it in the office on the weekends so that on the off chance some hoser does try to call me I don't lose my cool and start yelling at them......

I thought for S&T, Blackberries aren't that bad because you can forward all Bloomberg messages to your mobile. I doubt you need to stay "in touch" like the IB guys...

My MD demands that the food arrive between 6:30 and 7:00. Basically everyone leaves after they eat, unless they have something important to finish. Black car service is a pain because everyone senior at the bank tries to leave around 9:00, so a huge line assembles. I only use it if I leave after around 10:00 when traffic starts to thin. Also, I hear some banks will reimburse up to 75% of your personal cellular phone, which seems much better than a blackberry.
