Stacked Resume but Lateral Market Dead?

By no means am I an ivy league grad with top BB experience, instead went to a semi-target and still have 2/3 YOE across Big 4, corporate banking, MM and boutique banks with completed deals under my belt.

Yet having a hard time getting traction for lateral roles. Wanted to get a pulse check on if this is an isolated case or if anyone else is running into a similar issue.

Yes, 2/3 years internships included and using “stacked” for visibility. I feel like I am def going down the latter, applying to small corp dev shops, LMM banks, TAS. Just feel like every bank wants a jr associate/3rd year analysts.

That's because they can be productive on day 1, if they were well trained. Overselling is a big negative in my book, but maybe that is just me. I've also led recruiting at a BB for my college, did MBA recruiting at H/W and hired a bunch of analysts at a boutique. I also built a 250 person company and basically hired everyone until we got too big for that to scale. I was in PE for a bit and then took over a portco for them as CEO. The oversell yourself idea doesn't fit well with me, and I've seen a lot.
