Starting FT in a FLDP vs IB

Hi all,

If the end goal is to become a CEO/Entrepreneur which do you think is a better entry level job? I have been debating if IB would still be the best starting job in terms of skills needed long term. I would really appreciate your input and would love to hear your experiences in either if you were/are trying to follow a similar path.

I’d recommend IB. FLDPs aren’t going to give you P&L ownership, that doesn’t happen below usually the Director or VP level. Do the 2 year stint, go to PE and then move to a PortCo at a senior level. Alternatively go for an MBA after IB and go launch a search fund or do a general management leadership development program at a company that produces leaders like Danaher.
