"Staying on the Radar"

Yesterday I had a meeting with a managing director at an elite boutique in one of their regional offices. The meeting was only 15 minutes, but he said that he'd have some of his analysts reach out to me and grab lunch and that "I should definitely stay on his radar this summer". Do you guys have any ideas of how to do that tactfully, without seeming annoying?

The best way to do this in my experience is....

to actually form a relationship. Shocking I know. But it's easier than it seems. Attach anything you come across in the industry that you find interesting and send it to him in an email with a short write up asking for thoughts etc.

Also, it's easy to conduct a sort-of low key informational interview via email to keep in touch.. just sending questions about what he does or the firm or other things, then he responds, then you thank him. A few weeks later, do it again.

For instance, a SVP I'm in contact with recently got put on a huge philanthropic board here in town.. so I congratulated him, asked him why this cause, why he was so excited about it etc etc

EDIT: it feels awkward at first but, as with all relationships, time makes that awkwardness go away. You'd be surprised how quickly people will act like you're old friends, and reminisce how funny experiences or insights you shared were when they really weren't that great lol

Best of luck!

"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.
