These are very comparable firms. I think a lot of your decision should be based off of you location preference and which people you fit with better. I know pay at Stifel has been quite good (in-line with street) not sure about Piper. Deal flow I would expect to be similar at both - lots of MM equity deals, some M&A, little Debt. You'll get good experience at either firm.
It was a tough call between those two. I ended up hearing from another firm in their tech practice shortly after my post and will be going there instead.
