Subject Header For Cold-Email

Seems like a simple/dumb question (and hey maybe it is) BUT ...

What are some examples of subject headers that you guys use for cold-emails?

My outlook appears as FIRST MIDDLE LAST when I email someone instead of [email protected].

Since I will be emailing plenty of alumni, I would like to draw their attention to the fact I attend their alma-mater in the subject line.

Is that the same approach the rest of you take?

Thanks.

I am using the same approach. However, it may vary because as you may know, it may be appealing to me but not to you... so go on with what you think matters...

theworks9A. Interest in XYZ firm B. XYZ firm C. Interest in XYZ firm - Fellow "College" alum reaching out D. XYZ firm - Request to chat

Off the top from what ive seen. Obv C. is most effective (builds immediate rapport). Some variation of that should work

C does sound like a great option. I'm only a freshman so I've been searching for boutique firms around my home town, and after reading the Bio of one of the men I was going to cold email I read that him and I both live in the same suburb town of the city, do you think I could make that work some how?

wow, D is horrible. others good though

i usually went with the area of interest (e.g., CDS Trading) and a personal connection (e.g., Rugby, University) => "CDS Trading / Rugby"

I do:

XYZ University alumni

Or if your school has a shorter acronym:

X U alumni

Haven't emailed anyone outside that network yet though...
