Summer 2019 Opportunities
I go to a local community college in Queens and am looking to transfer to Wharton next year for my final year. To improve my chances of getting in, I am seeking a summer internship in investment banking. I have heard firms like Peralla Weinberg and Greenhill are good to have on your resume. Does anyone know how to apply for these positions for 2019 summer. I am also open to Goldman/Morgan.
Let me know if anyone can shed insight.
Not trying to be mean here just realistic...
Those firms are all done, SA recruiting was very early this year starting in February and wrapping up now. Would be extremely difficult trying to get one from a community college.
Wharton also doesn't accept transfers for senior year, you'd have to enter as a sophomore. Many people who transfer from a two year school do 3 additional years at a semi target/target, since they would need a ton of business classes and credits don't all transfer. The way to do this is to first apply to schools (Wharton takes like... 5-10 external transfers, you need a way longer list even if you have a 4.0) and then try and secure a IB position from OCR.
Best of luck man. It is a real grind but there is a path from CCs
edit: pretty sure this is a troll, talking about EVR vs KKR from a target and range rovers, but keeping the post up in case someone finds it in a search.
