Summer M&A analyst citi
I don't know wtf happens with Citi. Last week on Monday at 9 in the night I received a call from an associate of Citi to have an interview the following day with 3 other associates for the process of Summer Analyst (in a country in the south of Europe). The same day I had the 3 interviews they called me to tell me that I would have the last Interview the following day with 2 directors and a VP. So I attended the interview, and I answer correctly all technical questions, and I think that the interviewers thought I would be a good fit: The first interviewer offered me a drink and the third one told me I was almost in.
But now, a week has passed and I have no news, and I do not know what is going to happend. I am really scared that at the end they have decided to not hire me. Also, I don't know if I should send an email to the associate that coordinated my process to ask her when they are going to tell me something.
I would appreciate very much any comment or any tip on how to proceed. Thank you!!!
Hey there, it sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle! But don't worry, it's not uncommon for companies to take a bit of time to get back to you after an interview. Remember, they're likely interviewing multiple candidates and need time to make their decisions.
If it's been a week, it's perfectly acceptable to send a polite follow-up email to the associate who coordinated your process. You can express your continued interest in the position and ask for an update on the timeline for decisions.
Remember, patience is key in these situations. It's easier said than done, but try not to stress too much. You've done your part, now it's up to them. Keep your chin up, and good luck!

No need to worry. You had a quite fast process so far but that doesn't mean it's the norm. People wait for up to three weeks after the interviews before receiving a final decision. They're probably evaluating other candidates in the meantime and want to make sure they hire the ones they think will be a better fit.
Anyways, a week is nothing. You could wait a little longer and maybe send an email around the 10th day/2 week mark to thank them again for taking the time to interview you, renewing your interest in working with them. You might go as far as asking what the timeline is after the interview stage, but don't make it seem like you want them to hurry, stay polite.
