Switched firms one month ago — Things not working out

A bit about me. I switched firms recently (went from top 3 bank to a Tier 3) and moved to NYC.

So far, the grass does not seem to be greener. I’m used to working with driven people, and being in an environment with people that have a strong desire to win, which is not how things are at the bank I moved to. The MD is good and well respected, but the bank itself is a “middle of the road” kind of shop. I had the opportunity to do A2A at my previous bank but opted out because I wanted to move to NYC..my boss at my old firm would not allow that. I gave this Tier 3 shop a chance based on the strength of the MD and the good things I heard about the culture. They also offered a really strong comp package and above market sign-on..

It has only been a month but I’m unhappy here, and I know it’ll look bad if I start looking to jump back to a BB. Should I give this place a chance?
