Switching from M&A to Coverage

As an Aso in an M&A group and am realizing i have more of an interest in being a coverage banker as i continue in my career. How easy is it to switch between groups at BBs and what level do you think makes the most sense to make the switch?

I think m&a gives a great foundation for modeling and technical skills but ultimately my passion is a specific coverage group.

any advice is appreciated
