Switching from Operations to Asset/Wealth Management or Front Office role in CIB

Hi All,I'm going to give you a bit of background before coming to my questions.I currently work in a Top Tier Investment Bank in Europe - CIB - Market Operations department. I ended up here because I wanted to enter in this environment and from other doors was everything but not easy. I have almost one year experience in the Sales Department of a Wealth Management firm, there I was more doing support role for Sales and Relationship Managers. Now, I know exactly that this is not what I want for the rest of my life - I am 26 right now. But, I would like to break into the Asset/Wealth Management division of my Firm and/or the Private Banking side - within a role more focused on Investment Management Oversight or Investment Business Management (so not asking to pursue a role as Investment Professional, Portfolio Manager or Private Banker). I know what I like and what I don't, and I think a role like that could be perfect for me. On the other side, even a "front office" role within the Securities Services LOB of CIB would be interesting - something close to Client Services maybe (?) or more focused on a specific type of product like Agency Security Finance. Both sides of the medal are interesting and I am really trying to break in one of these environment. The point is that I am relatively new to the firm and I still need to stay in my current Team (at least) for other 8-12 months, since my fixed term contract was just renewed. What I am concerned about is that the more I stay here, less opportunity I will have in the future to move internally. Don't get me wrong, I think in this Firm there are a lot of opportunities to move internally and to make a great career, and I also notice a lot of people who were working in operation before are now working for some of the role I described above or something similar.I also currently studying for the CAIA certification in Alternative Investment (I see it more like an opportunity to challenge myself and pursue more knowledges in this field) - I already have a Master Degree in Finance. In addition, since I joined the firm (less than 1 year now) I had the opportunity to network a lot and a couple of times there were concrete opportunities to enter in roles similar to the ones described above but it ended up with my manager not agreeing as I was a fresh stater in the firm and I needed at least 1 year there. So, this is more or less the big picture. I don't want to spend my life in operation (which in a way is even dynamic if you are in the right Team - as an Analyst I already had the opportunity to work on projects with EDs and MDs), but I would like to have more viability of the market and work in roles similar to the ones described above. I am kind of lost because I don't know if I am doing the right thing (Waiting, do another year here, gaining more experience, more network, waiting for the right opportunity and gain more knowledge of the products and of the investment side with the CAIA).If there is anyone out there who is (kind of) in the same position, or had the same experience, what's the best advice you could give? what's the best tip? what is something you wanted to hear back then?I would really appreciate some feedback from someone who has more experience than me.Thanks a lot.
