Taking Time Off Before FT

I am an incoming FT analyst at NYC BB. Thinking of taking some time off from school to deal with some mental health issues and "grow up" more before hitting the real world. Provided that deal flow is not that great these days and headcount reductions are on the table, would doing this be seen as a beneficial and feasible option for the firm / HR? I don't want to look like a pussy or someone who is complaining a lot (unreliable) before the job even starts.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
