Talking about an unforeseen event that happened before an interview during an interview - A big no no?
I just did a video interview for a lateral analyst position today. Right before the interview, I was commuting by subway from a dentist office. A random crazy guy on the subway pushed me from behind, and I scraped my knees and hand as I fell on the floor. I was bleeding, and when I got home, I quickly took a shower before my interview because I did not want the wounds to get infected. However, my hair was wet during the interview, and I did not want to look like an unprepared mess. So when the interviewer asked me about my day, I briefly summarized what happened to me and explained why I am interviewing with wet hair. I did not want to be late for my interview and did not get a chance to blow dry my hair prior to it. On the other hand, I did not want the interviewer to wonder why I would do an interview with wet hair. Is telling the interviewer what happened a misstep on my part? Should I have just proceeded with the interview as if nothing happened or do you think it was fine to give the interviewer a brief overview of what happened to me when she asked me how my day was?
