Talking about Recent Deals in Interviews

When interviewing someone for an SA position, how heavily do your grill them when you have them tell you about a recent deal in the news?

Obviously they should know who the parties involved in the deal are, and why each party wanted the deal....but should they know every single multiple involved? If it's an M&A deal, should the SA candidate know the revenue, EBIDTA, and EBIT multiples the company sold for?

All advice is appreciated.
