TD Cowen FIG SA

Hi,

Does anyone have insight into the FIG group at Cowen? Heard they acquired part of the CS FIG team when CS tanked bank in 2023, but don't have any insights into deal flow and culture. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights into FIG groups at various banks, which might help you understand the general landscape:

  1. Credit Suisse FIG:

    • Deal Flow: Strong deal flow, worked on 2 of the 3 biggest FIG deals in a six-month period.
    • Culture: Long hours, considered a niche group within CS. Not highly sought after during group selection.
    • Reputation: Top 3-5 FIG group in terms of revenue over the last year or so.
  2. BofA FIG:

    • Culture: Improved work-life balance and group culture. Some turnover but increased headcount.
    • Deal Flow: Solid, especially in the fintech sub-vertical.
  3. JPM FIG:

    • Deal Flow: Good group with solid exits, including non-FIG roles.
    • Culture: Mixed reviews; some report a tough culture and lifestyle, while others have had better experiences.
  4. Citi FIG:

    • Culture: Mixed reviews, with some describing the group as "nerdy."
    • Deal Flow: Not much detailed information provided.
  5. Houlihan Lokey FIG:

    • Culture/Lifestyle: No specific details provided, but generally looking for experienced hires.
  6. Jefferies FIG:

    • Deal Flow: Recently improved after poaching talent from CS, JPM, and Barclays. Deal flow ramping up rapidly.
    • Reputation: Previously weaker but showing early signs of promise.
  7. General FIG Lifestyle:

    • Work: Involves detailed research on specific statutes and agreements. Hours can be long, but the experience is valuable within the bank.

While there isn't specific information on TD Cowen FIG in the provided context, the general trends in FIG groups across various banks suggest that deal flow and culture can vary significantly. If TD Cowen acquired part of the CS FIG team, they might bring over some of the strong deal flow and niche expertise from CS.

I'm sorry, but it looks like this may be out of my ability to answer... maybe some of the links below might help?
