Team wants me, didn't get hiring approval. How to approach?

Interviewed for a front office S&T/Cap Markets/IBD lateral senior analyst role and had 2 rounds of in office interviews where I met with 4 MDs. The team was looking to grow and bring in another person, I ultimately beat out all the other interviewers and my feedback could not have been better. Unfortunately they didn't end up getting the funding to bring in someone new. Due to the great feedback, the recruiter I was working with feels confident about putting me in front of any hiring manager with that bank, and he's also incentivized financially to get me an offer at the bank, so I at least have the recruiter on my corner.

The MD's were impressed/approved of me and it's been about a month since I met with them. My question is how do I leverage the one hour I spent with each of them and their approval of me, to land with another team at the bank? My impression is that they would have given me an offer if they could.
