Tell Team About Actively Recruiting or Keep it Quiet?
Hi all,
I’m an AN2 in a few processes right now. My idea right now is to keep things quiet and not tell my team until I have an offer in hand. But is there a benefit in telling them (maybe more open to covering for me, etc.) or not really?
I’ve heard it go both ways, but curious to hear thoughts. Thank you in advance!
I’ve always thought you should keep it quiet, but I’ve heard of an analyst in my group telling the team who then helped him out with his workload while recruiting, but not sure if it’s worth the risk
I'd err on the side of caution, unless you're close with them id advise agaisnt it for now
totally asymmetric risk here. What exactly is the upside here
Was just wondering if it made sense to ask only the people I’m working with (associates other juniors) so that they’re more willing to cover.
Do not tell them under any circumstances that you are recruiting. 100% risk, zero reward
what are your spidey senses telling you?
Make them think you're a fucking loser that will gun for VP and go bald in the process. You only make it evident that you've been recruiting once you announce it on LinkedIn with the new GIF milestones update (the pressing a key on the keyboard comes to mind). This is the element of surprise that Sun Tzu talks about.
