Telling bankers to pitch me a stock during coffee chats
So I couldn't think of a stock to pitch for interviews coming up, should I ask bankers I'm coffee chatting to pitch me a stock (but wording it more politely/curiously) and then recycle their stock ideas for my own interviews later down the road? I thought this would be a pretty good idea to have a well-thought out stock pitch from a banker to use
Please don't do this.
Have you never given an interview?
Interviewers ask every little detail of a stock and even more follow up questions. It is very obvious if you didn’t work on a pitch.
It doesn’t always have to be a long pitch, you can do a short. You gotta show you learnt as much as you could.
Work on a model, know the metrics, ratios, comps, and valuation.
Asking bankers for a stock is irritating and stupid to begin with. And even if someone tells you, you need to do indepth analysis to understand valuation, precedents, comps, and drivers of the business and industry.
High risk no reward idea.
What if I ask them for the models too
