The importance of learning how to rock and roll on a PC

All of you incoming SA monkeys I have some advice.

I understand many undergrads use Macs and don't see the need to switch to PC unless you are a business major (I accept the alarmingly high number of liberal arts majors going into high finance).

Here is my advice, if you haven't done so already: Ditch the MAC, buy a PC.

Getting the fundamentals down on a PC BEFORE your Summer will not only save you time but it will set you apart from the rest who are used to using Mac's (who are still convinced that clicking and dragging is the most efficient way to open up and use a file).

I say this because I wish I would have done it going into my last Summer. I can't stress this enough. Not only does it save you time to understand how to truly use excel, word, etc. (the magical powers of the ALT button) but understanding pure navigation will create efficiency, you may not have known was possible. Example: the classic ALT + Tab.

I had several friends who on of the first days at work had their mouse taken from them. That is the best way to learn. You truly don't need a mouse for most things, surprisingly.

By the way, didn't make this to get into an argument over OS systems or to talk down to those with Macs, I did so to hopefully help those getting ready for their first big time internship.

Cheers monkeys!
