The Lost But Not Forgotten Bathroom Break

There was a time when the stall granted you a freedom. An escape from the noise. Solitude. Bliss.

The porcelain crown offered refuge from the harsh realities of banking. It was accepting of all and always there in a time of need.

From the glories of its peak, it has fallen far. The bathroom has been stripped of its sacred protection, leaving us to be vulnerable in our weakest moments. Attacked by calls and zoom requests, we no longer find solace in our sanctuary.

I long for the return of the bathroom break.

I never worked in banking, but the sensations the bathroom breaks gives you is cross-border.
I'm so excited to get to the office just to take a break.

Not in IB but knowing when to get the fuck outta dodge when you know a manager, director, or colleague will be around soon looking for the first analyst they can grab on some urgent, awful task is a terrific skill to learn. You'll avoid many wasted hours putting together some stupid sensitivity analysis for someone's "back pocket" that won't ever actually get used. Escaping to the bathroom is key
