Thoughts on BB&T Capital Markets?
Hi guys! Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I was wondering if anybody has insight into BB&T Capital Markets. Any information about certain groups, office locations, pay, etc. would be great. Some other posts on the subject are a bit dated.
I only know about their Houston group. Pay is comp for a regional bank- don't see a lot of originality out of the oil and gas office or leading a lot of deals but interesting place if you like to be a participant. Very sharp credit focus on the team in Houston especially at the Senior Level.
Pretty strong MM transportation team in Richmond. They place surprisingly well into MM PE, maybe thats just the small bit of anecdotal evidence I have though. They cut out a lot of the rest of their ECM operations (ER, S&T) to focus on IB advisory, so it seems like they should be growing to be more of a MM player..
Do you know if the Richmond office recruits Associates post-MBA? Or does MBA internships?

Overall a pretty decent group. I know their Aerospace & Defense team (Windsor in D.C.) was gutted by poaching from other MMs. Strongest in sleepy business sectors (industrials, distribution, logistics, building products). Decent amount of sponsor work.
