Thoughts on Financial Advisory small shops in the US (Energy & Infra Structured Finance)

Per subject. Recently I was approached by a small shop for the Energy & Infra financial advisory role. The business includes structured finance advisory, tax equity transaction advisory, asset leasing, asset M&A, and some kinds of transportation-related advisory. Since I only have worked at big corporates, would love to learn your thoughts on this kind of opportunity, mainly about the long-term career path and exits (if I realize I don't like the settings).

Shop size: 10-15 full-time employees.

Position: Associate. This is the lowest level in the shop.

Pay: Base is higher than 3rd Year Analyst but lower than Associate of BB. Bonus is 80-100%

Responsibilities: You will hop on all types of deals, not just one or a couple. They hope to see you can do everything.

Work Setup: Remote. Quarterly offsite together.

If you have worked or know more about this kind of financial advisory shop and its long-term career, could you please share more insights? Thank you.
