tips for conducting info interview

hi so i have an informational interview planned for tomorrow morning with an MD head and this is my first info interview so I’m not exactly sure how to conduct it, don’t want to come off as just looking for networking because i have questions. If someone could please give me tips on how to conduct it besides just asking questions i would greatly appreciate it.

Research their background. Start w a couple generic questions (advice on how to break in, new sources you find interesting to keep up with finance, etc.) depending on how receptive they are then shift to more specific questions (asking about recent deals their firm has been on - make sure you’ve researched well enough to ask substantive questions, ask about a trend in their industry and what they think the long term impacts would be, etc.). At the end thank them sincerely for their time. Say you really appreciate it and would love to stay in touch in the future. If the call went well you can also ask if there’s anyone else they would recommend you speak to that they could put you in touch with. The next day send them a thank you email.
