Transfer from UCLA
I am currently thinking about transferring to either Northwestern or Cornell from UCLA. I know both schools are extremely competitive to get in as the transfer acceptance rate is really low. Just wondering if I can get in either one of them, would it give me a much better chance for IB?
you should be able to get into IB from UCLA? 3/3 of my friends that went to UCLA went BB IB in LA, 2 CS 1 MS fairly easily
Ye, I definitely know it is possible. Just curious if going to the two schools above might give me a better edge. Forgot to mention that I don't really like the school environment tbh
Idk in my opinion you could just put that effort you would have put into transferring into networking to get into NY offices, instead of putting effort into transferring and then having to put effort into networking in NY anyway?
Are you looking to do IB in NY, LA or SF?
preferably in NY, but I am also extremely interested in Asian offices (HK, Singapore)
I would say on margin that the transfer would make sense for NY. Honestly not sure about Asian offices, it might be a wash since there are so many UCLA alumni who are Asian and working back in China/HK/SG. Do a LinkedIn search and filter by alumni.
Thanks man. I just don't know if I should make the effort haha. or just work hard at UCLA
Cornell is definitely better than UCLA but as you said I'm not sure if it's worth the transfer. Stick around at UCLA and make the most of it, the alumni network should be enough
