Transferring into NYU but not eligible for Stern over silly matriculation constraint

Hi everyone, I’m currently a student in Southern California looking to transfer into NYU as finance/economics major. However, I cannot apply into Stern since I’m missing one class. Can you break into IB in NYC as an economics major in the college of arts and sciences at NYU? Or is it simply not worth it if you don’t have Stern on your belt.

Late to this but wanted to add: from College of Arts and Sciences at NYU you can still do a minor in Stern. Most importantly you can still be a part of any Stern club / go to all the on campus firm networking events which is the main value add of Stern in terms of breaking into IB.

Take it from an econ student's perspective but it's not like a few years ago when there was a clear difference between the schools. Now there isn't a really clear difference between the schools most people just lump them together as NYU - just more so of how much effort and networking that you can do.

I managed to secure a few offers this cycle for IB and PE but it was especially brutal for a lot of my stern peers. most couldnt even get invites / offers despite being in the top clubs so take that as you will. good luck and don't let the business majors tell you that you can't break in since I had so many people downplaying my capability yet I'm in a better spot than they are now
