Transferring to Ivey - Need Advice

Hi guys, I’ve been browsing this forum lately and finally decided to make an account to ask some questions that I have.

My Situation: Currently a 1st-year undergraduate student at a 2nd/3rd tier Canadian B-school (Think Schulich, WLU, Rotman (u of t), etc.). I was accepted to and could easily have went to Queen’s/Ivey, although I did not have that opportunity due to issues with parents. Regardless, I am quite aware of the possibility to transfer to Ivey after 2 years here, and my situation will be different by then. My Goal: Graduate of Ivey HBA, eventually a F/T in Toronto (big 5 or BB).

The grades required for ibd and/or Ivey (3.8+) are a non-issue at this stage, I am already ahead/set in this department.

Pertaining to work experience, I currently have 4 years of significant (and verifiable) experience as a co-founder of a family business (some tiers above that after school job flipping burgers). This summer, it is likely that I can get a PWM internship (unpaid) this summer, and work towards (minimum) a big four auditing internship or f500 finance internship in my 2nd year (ibd in year 2 is bordering on impossible where I’m coming from, presidents/execs of the finance club here get big 4 accounting jobs at best). I am also considering a research assistant position for next year (w/ finance profs).

As for ECs, I am involved with the usual groups…investment fund, finance club, etc, nothing crazy at this stage, unfortunately. Need advice here: will work experience eventually override ECs? Or do I have to join a bunch of random clubs ASAP? I already am set with finance-related EC’s, and feel that other clubs are more on the "useless" side and won't really add much value to my resume (after a certain point, no space for random rubbish clubs).

Any specific advice regarding how I can maximize my chances in general will be highly appreciated.
