Transition from Fintech to M&A after MBA
Hey guys,
I am new to the site so apologies if this question is not in the right forum.
I am a computer science major working at a top software company in the financial services division (Developing software for a top Asset Management firm[Client]). I have a lot of working knowledge about mutual funds but no formal education in finance. I plan on transitioning to IB after an MBA as I have become interested in finance through my interactions with my clients. However, I find capital markets and M&A more exciting as career prospects than asset management.
Can I realistically transition from financial technology to let's say, M&A with an MBA and the aforementioned work ex? Could there be any transferable skills in my current work ex that I can point to?
Thanks in advance!
