UBS SF/LA/CHI IB?

Was wondering if anyone had any insights into the differences between UBS's LA/SF/CHI offices in terms of culture/deal flow/exits/WLB, especially post-CS? I'm an intern seeking to move into one of their American offices (not NYC).

don't have too much of a choice since I'm an intern seeking to move into one of their American offices that's not NYC :(. Would you know anything about any of those offices?

All bad. LA is prob the best because there's a sponsors group there and the sponsor's team is one of the few okay ones in America. CHI is Industrials, which is one of their better groups, but frankly, that group's actual good MDs are all situated in the NYC office. For example, the paper and packaging and chemicals verticals are where UBS is very strong even relative to other banks, and the MDs in both are in NYC. UBS GIG has a few other MDs who are good/decent in other industries but those are all in NYC as well.

UBS SF is a great place to destroy your career. They have Tech bankers and a single media banker there. They also opened a Menlo Park office because their seniors didn’t feel like traveling all the way to SF since they mostly came from Barclays Menlo. You wonder why their deal flow is so bad? Well look at the fact that their first priority was opening up an office and reducing their own commutes. Tells you all you need to know

You know what those tech bankers and single media banker share? A lack of deal flow. The UBS SF office is full of some of the worst MD's out there, only better than the NYC tech team because it seems slightly less toxic but both are horrendous.
