USC investment banking

If I decided to apply during my gap year, but another option would be to transfer after my freshman year... I guess my real question is: should I even consider that idea? Hopefully at a BB. I already have a network out there that is pretty strong, but I am worried Usc will hold me back outside of the west coast. Should I stick with Usc and try New York, or is trying to apply ED during my gap year the way to go.
