Useful FINRA exams for IB recruiting

I’m a senior in high school and my school offers an independent study course, which I’m going to do next semester, and I’m wondering what I could do that would help my resume for internships. I’ve already passed the SIE. What would be worthwhile that doesn’t require sponsorship? Series 63?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, since you've already passed the SIE, pursuing the Series 63 could be a worthwhile next step. The Series 63 exam focuses on state securities regulations (Blue Sky Laws) and is often paired with other licenses like the Series 7 or 79. However, keep in mind that the Series 63 typically requires sponsorship from a FINRA-member firm, which might not align with your current situation as a high school student.

If sponsorship is a barrier, you might consider focusing on other finance-related certifications or skills that don't require sponsorship, such as financial modeling courses or certifications offered by platforms like WSO Academy. These can significantly enhance your resume and prepare you for future internships in investment banking.

Dude, congrats on passing the SIE. You're already ahead of others who wait for an internship before taking the test. I'm sure the best advice I and many others will give would be to try getting into a semi-target or target school and network. You already passed the test, so that already shows your commitment. I wish you the best on your journey.
