Vault Banking 25 - Moelis & Co in Top 3?

Hey guys, longtime lurker here. I would like to know what your thoughts are on Moelis being top 3. I have read a lot about the culture at the firm and how of a sweatshop it is. Do you think they are deserving?

As a Moelis employee - absolutely not. TBH Moelis has always had some relationship with Vault (sponsored ads, etc.) and made a big PR push. But don't be fooled - that's all this is. The fact that we were ranked #1 for benefits, hours and wellness is a huge joke (and also salt in the wound after this last year).

Would put minimal weighting on the Vault surveys in general, but Centerview and Evercore being #1 and #2 overall isn't really a surprise and I think most people in the industry would say pretty accurate.

Because he was fired for using this site at the first place.

At Moelis and during work hrs, the only thing you are allowed to do besides working is asking for more work. Door is locked and toilets are clogged.

Current west-coast Moelis analyst - here's my two cents:

- Culture and hours have been getting substantially better but eod Moelis does a lot of deals so you will work hard as at most places.

- Hours and culture are different. The people I work with are great and even though we work some longer hours I wouldn't rather do it w anyone else.

- Pay is above average, banking is banking, the people are fun, the firm is super supportive of exits, it's an amazing spot to start a career in finance.

- All that being said, don't read too much into any one ranking. Take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt and do your own networking and research.

Doesn't Northwestern Mutual have a stake in the company or own a ton of ads? Ik that's how they have such a high-ranking internship.
