Visiting GS HQ

Tomorrow, some kids and I from my HS (i'm a senior, don't hate please) are visiting Goldman's HQ in NYC. I think it a career day event where different people talk to us (mainly about Asset Management). Since I really want to break in IBanking, do you guys have any advice for tomorrow in terms of networking? Do you think I could sneak into the IB floor during lunch and speak to some people ;)

thanks

it's impressive that you're starting so early. i started in fall of my junior year at college haha (i'm now hired as an fx derivatives trader, not at goldman but a similar place).

i wouldn't worry about it too much. definitely don't make it look like you don't want AM and don't want to be there. make some contacts, possibly in hr/recruiting, and take things slowly, try to arrange future visits and talks, and slowly introduce the issue there. later on you can be more upfront, but for now just be happy you're in the building. good luck. can i ask where you're going to college?

Sneaking onto an IB floor will be difficult and could get you attention for the wrong reasons. I would talk to one of the HR reps as early as possible and see if he/she would be able to take you or at least give you more information and a contact if you have more questions.

oldmansacksI'm a senior in college and around 5'6 you think I could sneak in with you guys?
Nice digs, I was going to ask the same thing. Funny idea, just kidding.

No I'm not.....can we go with you?

Get busy living
