West Coast Bankers?

Not to hijack the forums from their NYC-centric bend, but I'm curious to know who out here is on the West Coast (which in banking basically means SF and LA) and how they ended up at their current job (i.e. school, experience, etc.).

I'm trying to figure out if people in LA are recruited specifically from West Coast schools or if there are any brave souls who went to school back East and decided to try their luck West. Please, if you went to Stanford, spare us the "Stanford's the greatest school ever" speech and if you are an analyst at UBS LA, then I'll FedEx you some toothpaste and a toothbrush as I know you have not left your cube in days.
